Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy: A Valuable Therapeutic Modality
Hypnotherapy is a valuable therapeutic modality that combines traditional talk therapy or cognitive therapy with the added feature of a hypnosis session. Together, we will explore your personal goals to gain a clear understanding of how to better access your subconscious and achieve those goals.

Hypnosis: A Tool for Personal Transformation Hypnosis is a state of focused awareness where the body is completely relaxed, and the mind remains awake. This state facilitates access to your subconscious mind, where positive changes and the transformation you desire can begin.
To better understand the hypnosis process, it is essential to know the different states of consciousness or brainwave activity levels we experience throughout our daily lives, from full wakefulness to deep sleep.
Each state of consciousness is associated with a specific range of brainwave frequencies. Below are the main states of consciousness and their associated brainwave frequencies:
1. Beta Waves (13-30 Hz)
- Alert state: This is the state we are in when awake and attentive, performing
2. Alpha Waves (8-13 Hz)
- Relaxed wakefulness: This state occurs when we are relaxed but still aware and
alert.
3. Theta Waves (4-8 Hz)
- Light sleep and deep meditation: This state is experienced during deep meditation,
light sleep, and the REM phase of sleep.
Characteristics: Lower frequency than alpha waves, associated with creativity, intuition, and access to the subconscious mind.
Context: It is a light trance state where visions, dreams, and memories occur. Hypnotherapy primarily works in this state.
4. Delta Waves (0.5-4 Hz)
- Deep sleep: This is the deepest state of sleep, without dreams, crucial for physical and mental recovery.
Hypnotherapy primarily works in the Theta and, to a lesser extent, Alpha wave levels. These states allow access to the subconscious, where significant changes can be made to thought patterns, emotions, and behavior.
Duration and Structure of Our Sessions
Preliminary Session (via Zoom or in-person)
This session, usually free and lasting 20 minutes, aims to identify the issues to be
addressed and assess whether hypnotherapy is appropriate.
Session 1 (via Zoom or in-person)
This session lasts approximately 90 minutes (1 ½ hours) and can be conducted via
Zoom or in person. Various suggestibility tests are performed, and the hypnosis process
begins during this session.
2 Sessions or more (via Zoom or in-person)
These sessions, typically lasting one hour, are used to monitor progress during the week and continue working with hypnotherapy to reinforce the advancements in the topics addressed.
This approach allows us to tailor the hypnosis time to individual needs, ensuring an effective and personalized therapeutic experience.
